I have not had much chance to be on line, but, that does not mean I am not making stuff.
I had some wonderful news last week. I have been chosen to be a recipient of a “Go For Gold” Scholarship from the MS Society and my award allows me to purchase a lot of Stampin’ Up! products. Myself and the other recipients have been invited to a luncheon on Sunday July 27th to receive our award. I am allowed to bring friends with me and my son and my friend Carmel are coming along. I am very excited about this.
Multiple Sclerosis has played havoc with my health over the past 9 years and being able to use my craft skills doing various things has really helped to keep my spirits up. My eyesight has been permanently damaged and I am really grateful that though I cannot embroider like I used to, I can make greeting cards. The Go For Gold Scholarship is an amazing gift for me to be able to really make the most of doing what I love best.
It is a friends birthday today and I made a card and discovered I have no suitable envelopes, so, I made this cute tote bag to put the card in.
I got the tutorial for this little tote bag, from “Running with Scissors” by Leslie Miller
“Running with scissors” is a great blog and there are some beautiful and inspiring items on it. The lady who writes it is really talented.
My tote is nowhere near as good as hers, but, seeing it is my first one, I am happy with it and I am sure my work will improve with practice.

I used “Stampin’ Up!” products to make this tote and card. Rich regals card stock (color, Always Artichoke), Double sided paper from the Designer paper series “Le Jardin”, Ribbon from the “Theater” collection and 1 1/4 round punch, the scallop punch and some chocolate chip cardstock for the scallop on the card. It was easy to make and the tutorial on “Running With Scissors” was easy to follow (well, I followed it and I am not a genius, so it must be easy to follow lol)
I have also been really busy coloring with water color pencils and an Aqua Painter. I am so loving coloring my stamped images. It is awesome fun and has quickly become a passion. Below is a photo of some of the playing I have been doing. They are not real good because I am just “playing around” getting the feel of the watercolor pencils and Aquapainter, but, they are a start and will improve as I learn. I am just loving playing around with the stamped images and colors. Next on my wish list are the color markers and crayons, oh and about 50 different colored stamp pads, which I will be getting very soon.
